Not sure if I posted this one or not. It was a second trip up to Rohtang La, not terrible high elevation, 4,000 meters or so, but the first time it was pretty trecherious with mud, this time there was a little mud, but it was amazing how much had been paved since I was there a month before. If you want to experience Ladakh in the wild ge there soon, its going to be just another highway soon.

Heres a good example of why you shouldnt ride in India at night. I was tired and just come from Delhi, all the worst combinations, plus I was totally lost and couldnt find the guest house. This was riding through Jaipur Rajasthan. Glad I survived it.

And lastly this little video shows just how crazy the taxi drivers are. This was leaving Pushkar after the camel fair.

WOF

Not such a great day today. I finally took the van in for the WOF warrant of fitness. These guys went crazy on the poor girl. They went way over board pointing out a tiny chip in the windscreen saying it was in my vision and could be a distraction. Its tiny and way down in the corner and its passed two WOF before and no one thought it a problem. More serious was the rust, they seem to think that every tiny bit of rust means its an unsafe vehicle. I dont see how a bit of surface rust on the door can make it unsafe. Its put it to where a vehicle this old it probably wouldnt be cost effective to have it repaired, they know that, they have basically condemned my poor little camper and for no good reason.Everything mechanical on her is fine and passed. Im not sure I have an recourse against them either. I can't get the registration valid until the WOF is taken care of, so parking it on the street could really be an issue, so could being pulled up by the cops. But what to do? Im only here a couple of months. Im not going to buy another van. I need to get a second WOF done somewhere else, but I have a feeling they report this on a central computer and once it goes in on one, then the others will have to follow the same ruling and require me to fix the same pointless things.

My Yahoo account has decided Im a spamer and blocked me from sending emails.

Virgin Pacific has decided it seems to now ignore me. The woman that had replied a couple of times isnt now. SO today I called the bank and stopped the payment on the flight they made me unnecessarily buy. He wasnt too hopefull that Virgin would just turn round and demand the payment. Not sure how that works. I guess now its been denied to them, they have to make the next move and demand it. Id still like more satisfaction than just my money back for what the put me through.

Did have a nice bike ride today, so that was good. My legs although tired chugged along ok.
