More Byron Bay
Oct. 27th, 2010 10:25 amIts quite the wild life place here, one minute you're sitting in a barn the next a bloody great snake is falling out of the rafters

Was out on a bike ride the other day and I hear some screeching and there are these beautiful parrots, just sitting out in the fields. Its amazing when you see flocks of these over head, and the screech sounds so prehistoric.

From right there I turn and there at a little stream is these guys, these are everywhere, this one was about 2ft long, but some are much bigger.

I can't remember if I mentioned that Ive done a couple of good bicycle rides. One about 50km the other down to Byron for about 28km. Both over some pretty good hills. never believe people that don't cycle. "oh yeah its all nice and flat" Its flat to their fat asses because its just a little extra push of the gas pedal. This is from the top of the ridge. Now that was a climb. Interestingly the first bike ride I was working away really hard and wasnt breathing hard at all. The second ride was a bit more hard breathing, but nothing too bad even though my legs were really killing me. Wow the wonders of high altitude training! Thats all I can put it down to is the workouts in the Himalaya and now the effects are pretty much worn off. Im sure the next ride I'll be panting hard again.
