I emailed the editor of the inflight magazine for Air Aisa. Just a quick note asking if they were interested in real stories of adventures such as biking in Malaysia and Thailand. Never heard a word back, so I guess not. I dont know what market these airlines are pitching their stories to. Its always some story on a day spa for $1000, or a 5 star hotel. Why not write stories that speak to the majority of us slobs back in the cheap seats. I also emailed two businesses in K/L about ad space on the map. one hotel I was just asking if I had the right contact, never heard back. The other said nice idea not the right time, emailed again to ask why it wasn't the right time. Never heard back. Humm i guess I can't expect everyone to line up to sign on to advertise in the map, especially when I don't have a product yet. As far as the in flight mag, i'm going to use my leverage with the ticket screw up with Virgin to see if they will give me a shot at a feature.

I tried to download Illustrator today and after about 30 mins it shut down my internet because Id gone over my download limit. Good that I only had 3 days left on the account anyway. SO Ive signed up again. Just have to be careful with my uploads and downloads, although it lasted pretty good. Turns out I have 2000mig Spoke to a guy at an internet cafe in town and he thinks they can download illustrator in about 45min, so it will only cost me $3. Going to try that tomorrow. Id really like to get started on learning that program.

I didn't get out of the van almost all day yesterday. Always seems like time flys when im on the internet. Today it started raining so it was an easy decision not to go to Taupo yet again. I did finally get my ass in gear and go run and swim. This rest week is just what I needed. I still have some muscle pains in my legs, but once round the lake felt so much easier and after i swam straight out non stop for maybe 15 mins.

Part of what I was working on was finding out how feasable it would be for me to buy a bicycle in Vietman to ride around and over to Cambodia. Turns out its very much do able. So there we have a pretty solid plan now. And even an approximate route.

haha, yeah funny LJ doesnt notify you when people just add you. I looked around on yours. You really take a lot of pictures, which makes it great to see where you've been. Are you still in Switzerland? That little village you walked around looked lovely. And Japan! wow

I think you can change a setting so that you get notifications.
Trying to get better at writing about where I go - but yea, it's mostly visuals for me. Right now I'm still in Chicago (goddamit!) - I'm moving to Switzerland in one week - having a bit of a brain collapse about that but getting through it. :) I was there in June. Japan is great but woah expensive.

Ha, I have a nutty ex girlfriend in Chicago, she is always going on about the cold and wanting to move. Heard Japan is crazy expensive, which is why its not on my list! But my aunt who lives in Hi is from Japan and has asked me to come with her there as she goes back every year. Might be a nice more inexpensive way to do it.

Ah see, I think the cold only bothers the 'nutters'. I'm just itching to get gone already. I've been neck deep in the moving process for too long now. You can get by in Japan on the cheap (traveling with locals/relatives would be awesome!) - but not so cheap as, say, Vietnam.

So you guys are going for good? How did that come about?

I don't think it's for good - but I don't think we're coming back to Chicago either. I think we'll just start moving around. Husband took a transfer/promotion opportunity with his company, which is based in Switzerland.

chubby is in IT, computers, servers, networks. for Phonak (hearing aid company). My work is my art, and I can do that pretty much anywhere I can connect to the internet to sell it. So I'm pretty flexible. But otherwise no I'm not legally allowed to get a job in Switzerland, gotta have a work visa for that and I'd rather just focus on art stuff anyway. I just finally quit my part-time-desk-job and I don't have any plans on going back to that sort of gig. How are you surviving if you dont mind me asking? Also, holy LJ-comment overload - just email me
