Feb. 19th, 2010 09:35 pmWell as usual Im flaking on the races. Thursady I really didn't feel like driving all the way to Taupo just to ride. Its a 200km drive and with the van not registered probably not a good idea, and ok thats just an excuse, I feel not that enthusiastic about racing tomorrow either. The stupid website doesn't even say what time the race starts and how long it is.
I did have another great run on Thursday after it stared out sluggish. Ended up getting a 28 min first lap that really tore my legs up, but still managed with walks to pull a 1hr 2min total for both laps. Damn good time, but it really hurt.I think the only thing that keeps my legs together is swimming in the cold lake water afterwards.
Think I must have over done it a bit though, as today I sat in the van all day eating junk food. Tried to get this damn Illustrator program to load. Got mad thinking about Aby who sold it to me as part of the bike deal. Also got a strange note on FB from my brother, nothing from him again, just some sort of copy and paste from my mother. Thanks for the card. Xmas in oz must have been warmer than ours, stuck in the ice on the canal for 3 weeks. Keep on with the snail mail, I can't use facebook but have seen your travel blog pics they are amazing.
Much love Mum xx Ok so why cant she send me an email? weird. I thought this evening about my mother and how now Im supposed to not mention her throwing my things away I guess and how Aby had screwed me on these programs. So is that it? im supposed to carry on like nothing happened, is that the way it works? Amazingly I wrote Aby not a friendly email, just "hey I tried to make programs run..bla bla" and amazingly he wrote back. Of course what he told me to do is what ive been doing. So no help, but maybe he will sort something out, and maybe he didn't intentionally give me these programs knowing they wouldnt run. Looking through the files the programs are in there, its just a matter of figuring out how to boot them.
The Illustrator course up in Auckland looks like the guy can customize it for me to learn the basics and get a handle on the map features. Cool want to sign up for that, but need to have the van legal and the program running. They want about $230 for a day course, so its actually cheaper than the graphic designer, and probably better since they would hopefully have a much better idea of teaching how to use the program.
