Sep. 14th, 2010 11:31 pmMade it down to yoga again today. S and D were there again. Simon says he's gone 11 days in a row now. Aussy girl that I keep bumping into around village was there too. Was an ok class, but he doesn't pace it very well and I think the positions are too fast and too advanced for what is supposed to be a beginners class. Just as the class got started it began to pour. The building has an exposed tin roof, so it was nice listening to the noise of the rain on the roof. It reminded me so much of my old days back in Key West in the dance studio that also had a tin roof. There's nothing more amazing than the power of a tropical rain on a tin roof. The yoga instructor has some sort of lisp. he cant say s so when he asks you to move into a pose he says "plesh" Between his lisp and his Indian accent it means you can't really understand a word he is saying.
After yoga S and D invited me up for tea at their place which is just a stone throw up the path. I invited the Aussy girl. I think she thought we were going to a tea house so she was a bit surprised when we walked up the garden to the house. I think she enjoyed talking with D. I went to breakfast later and finally I ran into the crazy Russian graphic designer. She was all apologetic and asked if I was mad at her. She asked if we could sit after breakfast and go over what I wanted with the maps. We went back to my place and she really doesn't know much about AI. She was also set on making a trace of the map. I told her that wont work, but she wouldn't listen and kept tapping away and opening programs. After an hour she produced this crap looking trace, but she still seemed to think that was either all I needed or it could be cleaned up to look good. I tried to explain that it would take about 5 times longer to clean it up into anything half decent than it would if you started from scratch and copied the map the way it needed to be copied. Shessh I duno what it is, but I'm starting to think the world is full of crap Graphic designers that got into it out of frustration at not being able to produce any other kind of art. So pretty much a waste of the whole afternoon.
