May. 30th, 2007 08:47 amthe swim in the morning yesterday was..ok I forgot the workout, but had looked at it before I left so i had some idea of it. I liked the 50's 25 fly then 25 free. Followed by 8 sets of 200 free. My arms and shoulders were totally pumped when I finished. I love that feeling.
Remember the asian chiick. She was getting in the lane next to me as I was finishing my warm up. The water temp was perfect even a little cool. So I told her. Total blank look on her face. I tell her again, still blank look on her face, then strange foreign sounds fall from her lips. Ha she doesn't speak a word of English, or she was playing possum to throw me off! lol
Things that annoy me on group rides.
Guys that have to make huge sweeps across the road to go round a corner at 10 mph or at any speed under 50. Its just not necessary and fucking dangerous as hell in a group.
Guys that cant hang on a wheel to save their life and so break up the group.
Guys that are somewhere at the back, but feel they have to call out every frickin car that is approaching just so they can be the first ones to say it.
Guys that feel they have to yell out when to turn even when they dont know the route themselves.
Other than that it was a great ride last night. Still feeling stronger and stronger. Last night I even won a couple of the sprints and the last one that I really hate i timed it perfect and passed all the other guys that had broke early and took 3rd. Its not really like anyone is keeping count. But I'm pretty sure everyone is keeping tabs in their head.
Oww I nearly forgot to mention my totally awesome 15 bean cajun soup. With reading my sports nutrition book I decided I needed more beans, lentils etc. I tried to make this soup a couple of days ago. It takes forever. Soak the beans for 8 hours then simmer them for another 2 and half. The first time I soaked them then went to simmering them in 2 quarts of water and forgot about them and the water simmered all the way down and I burnt the beans. This time I soaked them, then simmered them during the day. I put the stewed tomatoes, lemon juice, sausage and spices in before I went riding and figured i could just heat and eat when I got home.
The first thing I notice when I walk in the door, is the smell of the spices. Oh shit I left the stove on!. The water had simmered down completely but it hadnt quite started to burn. I pushed it to the back of the stove in disgust. But then after my shower I wondered what to eat. I looked at the non soup and thought Id give it a try. It was fantastic! I kinda preferred it like that than as a soup.
