May. 8th, 2007 09:29 amWow I ve got such fuzzy head this morning. I feel like I was on a huge drinking binge last night, when of course I didn't touch a drop. My cold feels a lot better since the last time I was conscious 4 hours ago, and in that 4 hours lays the answer to the fuzzy head.
Couldnt sleep again. Tossed and turned for hours and finally around 1 or 2am I got up to eat something. Turned on the stupid box and Harold and Kumar go to White Castle was just starting. Never seen this movie, never been interested in it, although I hadnt really heard anything about it. What a frikin funny movie, I had to turn it off after about 30 mins though, not cause I was concerned about sleep, but so much of it was getting bleeped out, or rather words of a tamer nature had obviously been superimposed over the more descriptive ones. Figured I'd rather rent it sometime than see a butchered version.
So back off to bed and its back to getting settled then having to blow my nose again. Its dead silent at this house in the night, maybe the hoot of an occasional owl, but in the dark silence I started to play a game.(no not that game, get your mind out of the gutter) Its funny we dont really close our eyes. We close our eye lids and if you consciously look into your eye lids you start to see all sorts of amazing patterns that then start to take forms of objects, people, clouds and fantasy figures. Its a dangerous game though, after a while of doing this, concentrating very hard on looking at your eye lids, it becomes difficult to stop doing it. So now Im laying there and I cant make my eyes stop looking. But by 4.00am I was finally worn out enough that I dropped off for a few hours.
I guess starting to spin on the bike at 9.00pm probably wasnt a good idea. Im just going stir crazy couped up in the house for 2 days now. I figured Id certainly skip the swim today, but hoped I could bike, so I thought I might need to spin a little to loosen up the ole legs. I only did 20 mins, but got up a good sweat..umm probably not a good sweat, plus like I say it wound me up to where I couldnt sleep.
I really shouldnt do the group ride today and yes yet again miss the crit. Just need a mellow ride by myself. oww wonder if i can get in on the Velodrome! I think tonight is a training night.
Oh on a good note I yet again got a race date wrong. The Oly isnt this weekend its next. Still havent signed up though. I think I'll be fine for it, if I take it easy this week. Consider it a good taper. Its a frigin $100! Which is what had me holding off. I wanted to make sure I was going to do it. Course Im never sure until the day anyway.

Date: 2007-05-08 01:51 pm (UTC)No, not the kind on the Easter rabbit.
At most, I'll get on my bike on the trainer and spin for about an hour. I'm also considering a visit to the Y for some steam room sitting. It'd probably be good for my sinus.

Date: 2007-05-08 02:14 pm (UTC)What were you doing a workout while carrying the flu for????? You know, when sick you're supposed to REST, not risk making the immune system work triple time to keep up with your weakening the system with too much exercise AND getting healthy, then piling on too much overall heat in the process. I mean, I can see an easy swim, or light exercise cuz it keeps the muscles from going nuts, but sick people should not be doing full workouts.
:-P
(not that I'm an expert either, just know that when I try working out while sick I just get sicker)
