May. 6th, 2007 07:53 amAhhh crap. Yesterday after a really great swim, came home ate and then dug post holes!and napped, then woke up with a really bad sore throat and sneezing like crazy. thought it was hay feaver from working in the yard. I needed to get a long trail run in, but the nearest trail for me is about 40 mins car drive away. Figured it would be a treat though rather than slogging along on the road. So drove out there and had a great run in the woods. Put in an hour and 10 mins on the mountain bike trails, so lots of good climbing and decents.
This morning was going to be the 50 mile ride with Jerry, but all last night my throat was killing me. That cant swallow without it feeling like you have a knife in your throat feeling. tried everything but couldnt get it to stop. Luckily I went to bed nice and early so I got a pretty good night sleep, but its not a good idea to cycle today. My throat is swollen, that plus a lot of mucus and my ears are blocked up and jaw aches seem to be the only symptoms. Hopefully it wont get worse.
Swim workout was a warm up then 20 x50 fast with 10 second rests. I couldnt get off 45 seconds. Id try to slow down but that was my speed every time. Lengthened my stroke, but slowed it and I still kept on 45 seconds. I couldnt keep that up for too long and my rests were getting longer. At the finish my arms were like lead and my lats felt like I had wings under there.
(laughing) As Im writing this I can hear the birds hitting the french doors glass. Every morning they come and eat at the feeders on the deck, but then somehow they must go to fly off and fly right at the window! Ive never been able to see them, but the noise is quite loud through the house.
