I make pretty good headway with AI when I actually put the time in to learn it. I'm still hoping to meet yet another graphic designer in Delhi. I finally bit the bullet and payed the $10 to sign up with Elance the online service that connects you with all kinds of professionals that bid on projects. This designer looks promising as she has done a few map projects. I want to plan a trip down to Delhi next week and meet with her and with the printer and then possibly take my camera in to see if it can be fixed. I fired it up today and damn it if it didn't start working perfectly. I turned it off then back on and it went back to over exposing. Could be the light metering or a chip that reads the light, but either way I dont know if that would be something worth fixing or not. Ow maybe I need to email Cannon.
Finally made it to the yoga class yesterday. Was really good if a little too advanced for my stiff body. But there was only 3 of us. A girl and the teacher a Japanese guy who was standing in for the regular Indian teacher. It was some serious stretches and my legs hurt from it today..umm nice havent felt that soreness in a long time. Hopefully will make it a few more times, although now I realize I'll be leaving India soon and so want to make a couple of trips to some places that i really should go see. Amristar and the golden temple along with the changing of the guards on the Pakistani boarder, then Shimla, just to say Ive been, and Rishekesh, because its supposed to be nice.
Current read is a book written by a Irish woman who rode her bicycle from Ireland to India in 1963! She carries a small revolver and she has used it several times. She has a style of writing that you just dont see anymore. Her turns of phrase are old fashioned but cute and her descriptions eloquent without putting on air's. The history is interesting too. She talks about Persia which is what Iran was called then, and about the build up of Russians and Americans in Afghanistan that eventually lead to all the trouble that continues today.
I still get such a thrill about walking in the hills here in Manali. Everyday i come across locals that at first look on me with a little suspicion, then when I give the head wobble and smile, they break out into the hugest beaming smiles and laughter.
