On average I get 9 hours sleep at night! I still often wake up feeling tired.

I had a visitor yesterday.

She lives with someone on the camp site who is what they call in campsite speak a permanent. Someone who lives in a camper permanently here at the park. Anyway her kitty is cute although a little on the skin and bones side, although Minke was a bit like that too. She ate some cheese and drank some milk then settled in for a bit of a snooze.

Through the miracles of Facebook, a Dutch guy I met and traveled with for a while in India and then met again in Kuala Lumur, arrived here in Rotorua a couple of days ago with his girlfriend he picked up in the south island. We went mountain biking yesterday and after 10 minutes of the first climbs he had to stop and thought he was going to pass out or be sick. I love it when young guys think they are so in shape and then I grind them into the dirt! hehe. We spent about 3 hours riding and had a good time. It was a nice change for me to ride really casual and not push it. By the end he had totally hit the wall and every slight climb had him getting off the bike and walking, poor guy. His girlfriend is from the same area of England as where my mum lives now. She is down to her last $200 and poor S is going to be footing the bill for her until she gets another job, which thankfully she has two offers now. They want to go out to check out the St Patty's scene tonight. I'll go, but think I'll avoid drinking, I just can't handle it anymore and don't feel any desire for it, but I would like to also check out the night life in Rotorua which I have never done!

Fascinating facts. Im about half way through my visit in NZ been here 6 weeks and got about 5 weeks to go. Its just about 2 years now since I left the US and went traveling.

I often get sentimental. Example. When I bought the camper van it came with kitchen equipment, including some cutlery. Its all basic stuff, but there is one knife that I love. Its a long bladed place setting knife with imitation ivory handle. The blade still looks like it did when it was new. Its made in Sheffield with true Sheffield stainless steel. Sheffield was the heart of the steel works in England and a major industry from the start of the industrial revolution. Their steel was the best in the world for over a hundred years. This knife is identical to the set my grand parents had, and the knife always reminds me of my grandmother and eating at their house.
