Damn storms! Nasty one moved in today. Luckily I managed to run in the morning, something I haven't done in a long time. What happened to the days of getting up at 6 or 7.00am and getting a run in, or the days of getting up at 4.30 to go swim! I'm lucky these days if I even see the morning. I'm usually up, but I can putz about in bed, looking on the internet, or reading my book or maybe even writing a little and the next thing I know its 12.00. today because I suspected this weather coming in, I forwent breakfast and got straight out at the crack of 12.00 to run!

From asking a few questions online on various forums I found the answer as to why my mapping software hasn't been working. Its all a bit techie and irrelevant, but suffice to say Ive now got it going again using a different base map. A map that turns out is far superior to what I was using. So Ive now finally been able to download my GPS data and study it a little. I've found that as usual Ive been really hard on my running abilities. No wonder it was a pretty hard run. Its actually 2.5 miles out and back. At the furthest point Ive climbed 233ft. I finish the run in about 40 mins, so I'm still doing a 8 minute mile.

The rain has been on and off all afternoon and this evening as the sun went down, I sat having dinner listening to howling gales screaming through the trees. What leaves were still on them were torn off in whirlwinds of brown and golden yellow flurries as they raced through the air. The gales are interspersed with moments of total calm. When I walked out from the dinning area at the camp it was completely still with a clear black sky, a nearly full moon shining even brighter than last night and again those amazing stars. I really love the stars. I remember living in atlanta and because I was right in the city I never saw the stars even on a clear night.
