I did a short run yesterday(friday) at the lake, just once round. Still some aches and pains. on the second half I felt really good, I thought I was blazing the trail, but then when I got back to the van Id still only managed a 30 min lap.

Felt like I got on top of the van repairs. Nice to see her looking good, but wow there really is a lot of rust, and I now realize just how much repairs had been done before. A lot of bondo on this old girl, and if I do keep here there will be no stopping the rust coming back again next year. But still might be a better deal to keep her, rather than have to sort out storage and then find a new vehicle when I do come back.

I wish i could figure out a good plan for the map prices. I'm starting to lean more towards one printing per year, but then I have to print much more of them, but then I thought I could possibly still do a smaller print run, and then another later in the year.I only need to say how many I'll print in a year, not that I'll print them all at once.

Swam at the pool today, go there around 1.00pm the pool was empty and it was spotlessly clean. a vacuum hose was still in the water and another hose adding more water. I got in and did a warm up of 200, then saw someone getting my attention at the end of my lane. A girl that worked at the pool had come over to tell me the pool was closed due to some kid taking a shit in it!! Why the fuck would'nt they have a sign saying closed! I went and used the indoor 25 meter pool, water was warm, and I hate doing so many turns. But I did feel much more comfortable doing sets of 300. I think I got somewhere near 2000m Thats the other problem with 25 meter pools I hate all the counting and I always forget. Id cycled into town. Wind is really strong today and I had a head wind all the way in. Cycling back a group of 5 planes were doing acrobatics over the lake. They'd swoop down and turn on the smoke and then do barrel rolls and loops. I couldn't believe that as usual every time something good is going on its the one time I haven't brought the camera!!

Wow, my shoulders, back and arms ache. I was going to run again today, but I feel really worn out and I need to do some more van work. I had a late and lazy lunch and its already 5.00pm! Maybe try for a brick tomorrow, even if its a pathetic run, I need to let my body know what its in for in a few weeks.

I just realized with all this wind there are autumn leaves everywhere. Last night there was a real chill in the air, definitely summer is over, lets hope for still some good days.

Oh shit, yesterday I realized I might have really fucked up with my visa for India. Id been concentrating so hard on finding all the right air fares and getting all the flights lined up, I forgot to allow myself enough time to get the damn Indian visa in K/L. Actually i gave myself enough time, but Id forgot that two of the 5 days Id allowed fall on the weekend so dont count. This really could be a problem. I have a solution but the agency in K/L hasnt answered my email to let me know if I can do this, plus it will mean applying for the visa a month before I need it which gives me a month less time in India. Thats not so much a problem if I leave in October like I plan.

Today when I left the pool, I went over to my bike parked at the bike rack. Two girls were talking with a guy lying on the grass. They were all Maori, the girls could have only been in their late teens early 20's. The one girl patted the other girl on the stomach, "you got another one coming eh?" "yeah" "good for you, thats number 5 right? you be catching me up soon". I shit you not, 5 fucking kids and im pretty sure she was a teenager. You see a lot of Maori's like this. They are well taped into the system and not ever going to work. Theres certainly been abuses of Maori people in the past and now they want their rightful share of handouts. But its so sad to see young people like this throw everything away and continue a pattern of lifestyle that really isnt necessary anymore.

Another strange dream last night. I was dreaming I was joining a group of people going into a country I wasnt supposed to be in, as some sort of spy. It seemed like it was Afghanistan or something. There were taliban that we had to avoid but other than that the locals were friendly. Funny thing was one guy had sneaked into the country and was living in a huge fancy American mobile home, it even had a USA sticker on the bumper. Dreams are so weird.

Went out later than I had wanted to cycle, but still managed to stick to the plan and get well the computer said I had 2.45 ride time, but real time was 4 hours. I did stop and chat a couple of times, but also the computer didn't fire up a few times too, so I think thats where the difference comes in. Anyway good ride, but it was late when i got back, was going to at least put my running shoes on and run a bit, but there was a couple sitting close to the van and I thought Id look like a real tool if I went off running and came back in 5 mins, which was about all i thought I could handle. I did run over to the toilet block to wash my face, and was really surprised that my legs felt fine. But now Im wound down, I feel shattered. I rode 25 miles. I cant remember how hard the rides were I use to do with Tim and the boys when we'd do big 50 mile rides. Doesn't seem possible that they could be as hard as this, I cant imagine doing another 25 miles if what I just rode.
