Feb. 3rd, 2010 11:00 pmNO more chocolate, no more ice cream. Thats the way its going to have to be. My diet really isnt that bad, but I could do with cutting out some junk, and the Chocolate and ice cream has reach critical level. The trouble with being at this campsite is it has a lot of groups that use the kitchen then leave their food, and they leave all the good stuff, beer, ice cream, soft drinks. All the stuff I need to avoid but there it is everyday crying in the fridge, "they forgot me, someone eat me, please". I dont think I could loose much more weight, but im guessing 5lbs could go and leave me really ripped. ever carried 5lbs on a run? thats a huge difference.
I'm quite excited about the magazine article. And Im not even sure what the editor wants. I did some research on him..(computer talk for I Googled him) and he sounds like a really cool guy that Id have a lot in common with. Looks like the mountain biking with the college kids is on, but still not sure what im getting paid. Going to try to get down to Taupo tomorrow to do the mountain bike time trial where Janet says a lot of the people will be that I need to meet. I'm also hoping to meet up with a cartographer guy that is pretty savy with the computer too. Ive talked him into letting me buy him coffee and he is going to show me what programs he uses and how he puts together a map.
Sonal in India has two tours into Ladahk for me to lead! He also wants to run a trip into Rajasthan next year and wants to pick my brains about best places from my trip this year.
Went to start the van this morning and it looks like something in the ignition switch has crapped out. Auto electrician coming tomorrow and hopefully its an easy fix and not too expensive. Need the van tomorrow to get me to Taupo! Still need to get the WOF (warrant of fitness) their version of making sure the vehicle is roadworthy. I cant get the registration up to date until the WOF is done and I cant get the WOF until I finish working on cleaning up some of the rust around the roof pillars which they said they would fail it on last year.
Sitting here looking at the Russian coin Elana gave me and she called! Shes not happy where she is, "too many wood animals and I have to walk a long way in the dark". Her russian friends are leaving soon and she is a little scared about being alone, but Thailand is a lot easier for her to be alone in that India. India is giving her some sort of trouble about getting her long stay visa. Im not totally sure what she was talking about, but she was making it sound like it wasnt hopeful that she would be able to come to Ladahk when I get there in June.
I havent taken one picture since I got to NZ. Well Ive only biked on the track once and thats really the only thing im interested in taking pictures of right now. When I drove up to the Xterra sight, it was a stunning view. I love the look of that lake with the volcanoes sorounding it and clouds blowing past in varying degrees of white and gray.
