More Melbourne and Help X
Jan. 22nd, 2010 11:21 pmI keep floating between enjoying the experience of Help Exchange and hating the people that take advantage of it. Or rather of me. just because I can build houses, these assholes think Im going to and expect me to build their fucking house with a broken hammer, no nails and a hand saw. Im serious they get all excited when I arrive and go "oh have we got a job for you" They show me what it is then show me the pathetic tools they have, while saying "oh yes I have all the tools, it will be easy for you to do."
Australians are really cheap, just like New Zealanders. It must be an English thing carried over from the migration. So they dont ever want to spend any money and the thought of getting all this work for free drives them crazy. Its supposed to be help exchange not fucking slave labor. Ive had Greg in Perth that thought Id be quite happy sleeping on old dirty sheets left over on the bed from the last person that was there, or sleeping on a shit old couch in the living room with his kids running around my head. Then the people with the B&B, not once did she say thank you for anything I did. I probably did $2000 worth of work. They left after Id been there 2 days and said "oh help yourself to anything in the fridge." there was nothing! Part of the Help X deal is they give you accommodation and meals. and now this last place is much the same. Im trying to trim out a sunroom that their sorry ass son who is a mason built. He totally fucked it up and patched the thing together, but now the last thing to do is the trim. Its at this part of the job you find out nothing matches, nothing is level, nothing is blocked out to be able to get a damn nail into. She told me they had all the tools and what do i get a fucking 10cent plastic miter box and a hand saw, again no nails, not nothing, and she walks around today and goes, "oh it looks ok" OK its fucking amazing I was able to do what I did. I think i might quite using HelpX.
Rode again today. My legs are a little sore, but more to the point they are very flat, no power at all. Was hoping to do a big ride tomorrow, but I think i might have to pull back and rest a day. I kind of like this feeling of starting again. I know it will come back, just take it easy and have fun. Wasnt I saying that a month ago about the running. Started to climb back out but now Im back to starting that all over again. Its going to be so cool when i finally write here about how i ran in the morning then rode in the afternoon and dont feel spent from it at all.
Trying to make it a habit to stretch after the cycling. My legs are really tight and I'll injure myself for sure if im not careful.
Went to the nude beach again late today. Just as i was leaving all the women turned up! damn it. They were all turning up with guys and hampers. Must be the late night make out spot too.
