Had to go for a meeting up by the perimeter today. As much as Id rather sit in the air conditioned truck, the thought of also sitting in traffic drives me crazy and I know I can make the trip in about a third the time on the motorcycle. Its so much more fun too.

Blast off up the freeway. Traffic? what traffic, dodge in and out past the idiots sitting in the outside "passing lane". Sun is shining and the breeze is cooling, perfect. Make it in plenty of time. The return trip is just as fun. that feeling of being the fastest thing on the road is awesome. All the jerks that bug you so much when your in a cage are left in your dust before your temp even has a chance to rise from their stupid driving habits. the idiot on his cell phone wandering all over the road. The girl looking in her mirror to do her make. The guy driving for the last half hour with his turn signal on. The guy tailgating an inch off the next guys bumper, both in the passing lane with nothing in the next 3 lanes over. All gone in a second without a seconds thought.

Ahh the joys of motorcycling.

Do you have carpool lanes in GA? We have carpool lanes here in northern CA that sit almost empty during rush hour that motorcyclists are allowed to use -- sometimes I've watched them go blazing by me while I sit in traffic with everyone else -- and think about how nice it would be to drive one.

Yeah we have them, and they are a little clearer, but usually theres someone in there driving at 50 mph and has the whole thing blocked up.

They are great for running errands around town and in CA with such amazing weather it would be fantastic. You should look into it.

So get yourself something else to play around on.

Oh, irony. I should probably look into it more seriously now that my car decided it wanted to piss an entire tank of coolant on the street (creating a nice environmental hazard, or at least a danger to outdoor pets) and in the garage where I parked it, leaving me stranded and forcing me cancel my last client of the day. It also has to be cheaper to drive a motorcycle -- spending $49 to fill my gas tank with gas at $3.59 is really getting old. It wasn't all horrible though: I have AAA and they towed my car to the shop where it is getting worked on and with one free tow my membership paid for itself. I almost hope someone steals it from the shop overnight so it can be someone else's problem.... And now if you will excuse me, I am going to go rant in my journal instead of hijacking this thread in yours.

I'm starting to look into that actually.

the gas factor really is a big plus and I imagine for you who is constantly running all over the place a motorcycle would be a huge plus. Has Neil riden one? They are fun to go on trips together with.
