I'm an idiot and I never learn

I'm pretty sure I gave a street seller a 500000 note instead of a 50000. Thats how the notes are written here, not 50,000 or 500,000 so it makes it at least a little easier to see the difference. The colors are all similar shades of blues and greens and all the sizes are the same. Why do they do that? Worst still is what I was buying was a lonely planet guide. Id seen this book before so i new what price it was going for. i made a deal with the woman for $7 down from $9. She asked if i wanted to open it from the plastic sealed wrapper. stupidly yet again I trusted her and just bought it paying her with a 100000 note and a 500000 note thinking that was a 50000. 100000 is about $5. So i paid about $30 for a stupid knock off book that now I open it I find that the pages are pretty badly photocopied. Add to that when i re packed my bag in K/L I didn't bother to take the little flash light and small day pack that i specifically packed in New Zealand. I duno what I was thinking. Im pretty sure most of the time I'm not thinking at all.

Finally booked my ticket out of Saigon to the beach town Mui Ne. I fluffed around here far too long. i just don't like the style of travel where you have to go somewhere everyday.

frustrated

When I booked my bus ticket I asked the quite well spoken woman about advertising her company on a map. What followed was the most confusing conversation which got me absolutely no where. Im not saying it means its impossible to sell here, but it did highlight the difficulties Id have. I've been thinking Id do better to find a local that speaks really good english and pay them a commission for each company they sign up. but then I also thought why do this the difficult way. I need to focus on a market that is easy to pitch to. IE English speaking western countries. I could easily make my market Australia and New Zealand and then later work back into Asia. I still need to work on making the maps so its a long road still. To put all that effort into a city that i then would have so much trouble selling to probably isnt a good idea. Plus the base maps I need to use are much better in western citys.
